Oh dear. Summer is coming to an end and I have to start wondering if I enjoyed it enough. I think I did, and I noticed that I'm already (kind of) longing for autumny things, like baking home made bread and sitting on the couch with our cat (who still refuses to sit on my lap:))... I almost (almost!) feel like knitting again. About the red nails: I am trying out which colours suit me best, turns out I match with red quite well...!

I've been picking up an old hobby lately: sewing! As always I have way too many plans for the amount of time I have left: although there is still a huge pile of fabrics (old and new!) and nice patterns and ideas waiting for me, I managed to finish some projects (see photos). The iPad sleeve was made with a pattern from amy a la mode , very clever and handy for anything else you want a sleeve for (phone, laptop, ipod etc). The fabric is from Mexico, I love how bright it is. The blouse is from Burda Easy with fabric I bought on the Albert Cuijp market in Amsterdam years ago, and it was really quite easy to make, which was nice for a change! More projects coming up...
Do I need to say more? The weather forecast was not too good today, however it remained dry and quite sunny , until the thunderstorm that started just now (10 PM). We had dinner outside with cold salmorejo and nectarine-parmaham-mozzarella-expensive leaves salad. Yum!
BTW: the sanding of the stairs turned out to take a little longer (about one week...), only today we were able to put on the first layer of paint.... Eventually I will show the result here:) Today (and yesterday) I've started doing a job we've been dreading for a while: sanding and painting our ancient wooden stairs. It sure does help that we have a sanding machine, however it only works on the flat surfaces. So for today I hope to finish the sanding (and cleaning after!), plaster some gaps, and tomorrow start with the first layer of paint...!
A few days ago I made these earrings with beads from Copenhagen. Now I need to find something red to combine them with..... :)
Yesterday I made this jordbaertaerte (Danish strawberry pie) with a recipe from Meyers Deli. Delicious!
This weekend I went to Copenhagen with my mum. I loved the city, it is both modern and fairytale-like, and has a very laid back atmosphere. On sunday we went to museum Louisiana, which was situated on the seaside, providing fantastic views. And the weather was just perfect, we could see all the way to Sweden!
Yesterday morning we drove to the Ooijpolder to watch the sunrise and take some pictures of it. So beautiful!
